Halloween Playgroup

Sean's playgroup had their Halloween party today. We didn't think all the kiddos would pose for a picture, so we had mom's keep them in oneplace. I was the designated picture taker of course so I'm not in the picture, but he's with Haley's mom in the front.

Halloween Parade at Dad's School!

Sean and I drove down to Aaron's school today so Sean could watch the Halloween parade. Sean walked by himself into Aaron's classroom, and even though Aaron was dressed up like tigger, he ran right to him with a smile.

Sean also had a big smile and enjoyed leading dad's class around the parade!

Sean's laptop

Sean LOVES electronics. Especially dad's laptop. We were starting to get worried that our computers would start to get ruined if we didn't have an alternative to give him. We got a vtech laptop for 20 bucks and he loves it. Now mom and dad get the cold shoulder from Sean when we try to touch his computer!

Sean's Costume

We borrowed the dragon from the next door neighbor who had this costume last year. Sean loves it and doesn't want to take it off, even though it's like wearing a heavy jacket in summer like weather here. I tried to show him how to growl like a dragon, but he wouldn't have it, he just smiles....our friendly dragon.

Library Day costume day

On Tuesday they have a song and book reading at the library. This week was special because everyone dressed up in their costumes.... Sean pointed out all the jack-o-lantern costumes to me.

Pumpkin Carving

Sean loved making the jackolantern. Now he points out every one we see. Every night we would go outside when it got dark and light it. We had to throw it out before halloween though, it got to mushy.

Open House at the Fire house

s

Sean started clapping when he saw that we were going to the Firehouse. The fire engine has been the easiest emergency vehicle to teach Sean since it's so big and distinct. Sean wanted to stay here all day....

Playgroup trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Well, not really a farm, but a Pumpkin extravaganza for the little ones. Sean could have just played with the red wagons all day. They had a merry go round, a petting zoo, and Sean's favorite, a choo-choo train. We had to take 2 rides on the train.

The petting zoo had 2 chickens running around, Sean liked those the best.

Sean is on his hands and knees trying to find out where the chicken went....

a new driver in our household

Sean refuses to get out of the car when we return from a road trip. When mom is done driving, it is his turn. I should just get a chair and read a book, because he'd like to stay in their for hours....

First Haircut

Sean got his first haircut. His eyes lit up with joy to see that he was going to ride in a car. Then the horror set in that some stranger was going to touch his head. He cried and almost didn't survive, but now he has a great haircut and looks very handsome.

Grandpa's Birthday

For Adrians birthday we all went to the park and then went to dinner at Anthony's Fish house by the bay.

Days 11 and 12

We have been here in San Juan the last two days sightseeing in Old San Juan. We are really glad we came down to see this area of the island as it is a must see. On the other hand we have had some difficulty adjusting the change in lifestyle from the countryside on the West coast where we have spent the majority of the trip and the city here in San Juan. Basically this side of the island might as well be the U.S. as everyone in our hotel is pretty much American and the pace of life here is fast and much more materialistic like you would see in any big city back home: fast drivers, not the friendliness from locals that we saw over on the other side, and everyone here in San Juan speaks way too much English for a Spanish speaking country. Then again that is the difference when you are a U.S. commonwealth. Our video shows the Morro fortress, old San Juan, and our hotel. Heading back up to the North Coast tomorrow to get ready for our long day of flying on Tuesday. See everyone soon.

Day 10-Last day here in Rincon

It is almost as if the island sensed we are leaving Rincon today as the ocean went back to being really small today (waist to chest high). Aaron feels very lucky to have caught waves pretty much every day we have been here as the waves here can be very fickle this time of year and the potential to not catch any waves of quality during the early season is a definite reality. We are having a slow, lazy last day in Rincon today. Mary Ann and Sean took a nap this morning while Aaron watched Kelly Slater win his 9th world title on the live webcast from Mundaka, Spain. Now we are heading off to Domes beach so Mary Ann can do some boogie boarding before getting our stuff packed to head to San Juan tomorrow morning. On the right of this blog page we downloaded a song that we really like that we have been hearing on the radio every day during our travels. The song translates to "I owe everything to him" and talks about remembering the importance of a higher power in our lives. We have deemed this as "our song" and really enjoy the inspirational message it offers. Leaving Rincon will be hard because there are so many great memories we will bring with us from this beautiful place. We know that we will some day come back to this part of the world and are ready to move on to see what Old San Juan has to offer. Stay tuned for pics and blogs from the last few days of our trip. No waves are expected for the end of our trip, so it looks like we will be mostly sightseeing for our last days. Right about now we are starting to get a little homesick and look forward to seeing our friends and family soon. As great as the Caribbean is, there is still no place like home.

Day 9 in Puerto Rico

Well it is lunchtime here in Puerto Rico and we are just getting back from Jobos beach up North. We are starting to get a little sad to think that tomorrow is our last full day here in Rincon. Aaron caught his second best day of surf on this trip here at Domes beach in Rincon this morning with some 75-100 yard shoulder to head high waves. Up North the waves weren't as good and a little sectiony but it was fun nonetheless with only three other guys out. This place is definitely starting to grow on us and we are definitely coming back in the future. Tomorrow we will probally just stay around here and relax and get ready to head to San Juan for the weekend and then back to Aguadilla for our last day here. No pics today.

Another drink bartender

Lazy afternoon at the water bar enjoying a piƱa colada, passion fruit dacquiri, and orange juice for Sean. Life is tough for us here in Puerto Rico. Living the dream!
